Happy New Year everyone! 2017 is done – can you believe it? It was a really great year for me. Check out my 2017 highlights here. Let’s set the tone for 2018, but first I just want to say…

I would really like to take this opportunity to say thank you to each and every person that supported P:I in 2017. From those who have liked, shared, commented and contributed in any way, THANK YOU! You all mean a lot to me. Looking forward to bigger and better things this year!

I pray for protection and peace concerning you. May God surprise you in 2018 and make it beautiful and prosperous.

I woke up yesterday morning with some words resounding in my mind for 2018 and silly me – I didn’t write them down, so I can’t quite remember the last word. Anyway addition to 2017’s “Be brave. Choose consistency. Love life” motto, I’ve added the following:

Reconnect. Recalibrate. Refocus. Be present.

Why these words? Let me explain:

To reconnect means “to link or be linked together again”. When I think of reconnection, I think of people and dreams. There are a few people I have been meaning to reconnect with recently and I would really love 2018 to be the year which I’m able to make more of an effort to contact loved ones. I also think of dreams and visions which I disconnected with last year to some extent and have implemented some vision boards in order to move forward. Consistency in following these up is key.

Recalibrate is to “calibrate (something) again or differently”. For me, this means “carefully assess, set, or adjust” my approach to achieving my goals from the get-go, or being open the recalibrating if an opportunity arises.

Refocusing enables us to “adjust the focus of (a lens or one’s eyes)” or vision so that we can see the end goal clearly. This is definitely something I need to do this year.

One of the meanings of “present” is to be “fully focused on or involved in what one is doing or experiencing”. I didn’t feel like I was in conversations or in some aspects of life in 2017. To be honest, sometimes I felt like I was on autopilot. This year I intend to change that to the best of my ability.

Do you have any words for 2017? If so, what are they and why? I’d love to hear from you.

Thanks for reading! Heads up: I’m changing my blog days to Tuesdays instead. Make sure you are subscribed so that you don’t miss a post for me.

Until next time, stay peaceful and blessed.
